We have 2 fields total of 3 acres, + 5 hard standings for Caravans & Motor homes in Whixley Lodge Courtyard, close to Garage - Mini coop store - Farm shop - pubs - restaurants just 2 minutes drive from the camping fields,

Rail station 1 minute drive, 4 fishing lakes and golf course with driving range 2 minutes drive from Whixley Lodge,the camping fields are next to the A59 with easy access to York - Knaresborough - Leeds - Wetherby - Harrogate - A1M J47,30 minutes to Leeds - Bradford Airport.Quad riding and paint balling 5 minutes ride from campsite.

The camping fields are more suitable for adults, there are no fixed play facilities for children,ball games are allowed,There is a tarmac road in the centre of the field( it is not used for traffic)ideal for skate boarding - roller skating or childrens bikes(see photos of field 1) or what ever your childs imagination wants it
to be, it is up to you to decide if you want to bring your children along,they are all still welcome. Network 3g INTERNET Broadband reception is good in the camping fields

We have 5 hard standings for caravans & motor homes in Whixley Lodge courtyard with Electric hookup,Fresh water tap,chemical waste & grey water disposal points,shower room,over night stay welcome all year,

The wild life in the camping field are Rabbits - Wood pigeons - Pheasants - Partridges and the occasional grey squirrel.early morning or evening you may see a Fox or a Badger.

There are 4 Self catering Chalets in Whixley Lodge Court yard close to the camping fields,

We have a bunk room in the Old Granary which sleeps 8/12 persons,which is en-suite with shower & toilet,n

o beds,you bring your own sleeping bags,air beds & toiletries.this room is heated in the colder months.Ideal for families, open all year to campers.

If your friends want to come & join in the fun and don't have a tent and want to stay with you,They can stay in one of our 4 delightful self catering Chalets,
next door to the Camping field,(available all year) or the Bunk house, the choice is yours.

Camping fields (1) or (2) may be used for your pitch(s)at our
discretion on your arrival for camping.

There are 4 good restaurants 1 minutes drive from Whixley Lodge,serving a selection of good food and wine,if you need a pub or inn there are 6 local pubs and inns including a chinese restaurant & takeaway within 2 minutes by road, fancy a round of golf with a driving range,Flaxby golf course just down the road 2 minutes drive.

The fascinating old town of Knares-borough is the nearest landmark conurbation. Try the Riverside Cafe, for example, at the Waterside. Or swim in the indoor pool. Or explore the plethora of small and interesting shops, one a very old chemist’s. Wednesday is market day, as it has been since 1310! That gives you some idea of the age and character of the place.

A larger town, Harrogate, is four miles beyond, with its upmarket atmosphere, grand buildings and shops. Ripon, too, is within ten miles, and nearby Fountains Abbey, owned by the National Trust, is a fascinating visit. Also to the North and West is James Herriot country. Wensleydale, Wharfdale and Swaledale are   three of the Dales worthy of a day out at least once a year!

Newby hall gardens,Emmerdale Farm - Harewood Bird gardens all just a short drive away,Allerton Castle is close by,1 minutes drive and you are at the Castle gates.

Swimming baths at Knaresborough,Horse riding at Follifoot,4 Fishing lakes 2 minutes drive.

Flaxby golf club 1 min,you dont have to be a member to play,public foot paths for walks on the doorstep, there is lots to do & see for you & your family in the vale of york.including Light Water Valley - Mother Shiptons Cave - Flamingo Park - York Railway museum - York Castle museum - Ripley Castle.

Camp fires are allowed only with a proper burning stove raised off the ground with an ash catcher so the grass is not burnt underneath in the camping fields.ALL TENTS WITH CAMPFIRES ARE CHECKED BY US,PLEASE COMPLY.
