Whixley Lodge Farm,Has 2 Paddocks to pitch tents - Caravans or Motor Homes in, also Hard standings in the Courtyard with Ehu,Just a short drive drive to nearest Garage - Mini coop store - Farm shop - pubs - restaurants just 1 minute from the fields,Close to Allerton Park Castle.10 minutes to Knaresborough Mother Shiptons Cave-15 minutes to york - 20 minutes to leeds -15 minutes to Harrogate - 5 minutes to Wetherby - 1minute A1M Junction 47 by car. Close to Cattle Rail station half minute drive,2 fishing lakes and golf course with driving range 2 minutes drive from Whixley Lodge,the fields are next to the A59 & Clockhill Field Lane, with easy access to York - Knaresborough - Leeds - Wetherby - Harrogate - A1M J47,30 minutes to Leeds - Bradford Airport.Quad riding and paint balling 5 minutes ride from camping field, with Bramham Park 15 minute drive away.
4 Layby snack bars less than 1 minutes drive from the Camping Paddocks.
The Paddocks are more suitable for adults only, there are no fixed play facilities for children,ball games allowed,Children are welcome if you bear the latter in mind, don't complain.
The Paddocks are cut once or twice a week,there are several stone fire rings placed around the fields for campers to have a log fire in & sit round it in the evening with your family,Logs can be bought from us (We don't allow you to bring your own or forage for wood in the paddocks),a fresh water tap & Grey water - porta potty discharge point are at the field gate entrance & in Whixley Lodge courtyard,The Toilet Block & wash up facilities are in Whixley Lodge Courtyard 30 mtr from the field gate entrance over clockhill field lane,Whixley Lodge is not a campsite or park,We have no shop or clubhouse, or marked out pitchs,you make your own entertainment, (see days out in Yorkshire in nav bar,)Get back to Nature, Camp under the stars. Pitch where you want to around the sides of the fields,Please comply to fire regulations (5mtr between tents all round) even if you a are a group camping together,We don't have marked pitchs restricting were you can pitch or the size of tent you can bring & put up to fit on it ,Very few sites will allow you to have- Large tents - Gazebos - Log Fires - Groups - Large Parties - dogs - extra cars or Play ball games, we do, we let you get back to nature and enjoy yourselves,Well behaved Dogs are welcome.  The Paddocks are used for animal grazing between the camping seasons,We leave strips of grass & hedge rows around the Paddocks uncut to support Nature,To help wild life including Birds-flowers & insects as recommended by MAAF,The paddocks are more suitable for adults only, there are no fixed play facilities for children,ball games allowed. Toilet & Showers + Diswash up Rooms,in Whixley Lodge Farm Courtyard,30mtr from field entrance over Clockhill Field Lane, we do not provide any toiletries, please bring your own

in the vale of york.including Allerton Castle, Light Water Valley - Mother Shiptons Cave - Flamingo Park - York Railway museum - York Castle - Knaresborough Castle - Ripley Castle-.Harewood House, Fountains Abbey-,Emmerdale Farm & 2 Fishing Lakes just a short drive away.Paint Balling & Quad riding 1 minute drive,Rufforth in & out door car boot 10 minutes drive from Whixley Lodge Toilet - Showers - Dish washup Block - Grannery Bunk room Log Camp Fires in Stone Fire Rings,Camp fire stone rings have to be booked online , we do NOT allow you to
bring your own wood due to safety reasons & fire risk to other
campers, we sell logs for the fires,we don't allow foraging for wood ON SITE or to burn fencing rails in
the paddocks or you to bring your own pallets to burn. (if you do any of the latter you will be asked to leave the campsite)
The wild life in the field are Rabbits - Wood pigeons - Pheasants - Partridges and the odd grey squirrel in the 4 Walnut trees,early morning or evening you may see a Fox or a Badger.
Self Catering Chalets, There are 4 Self catering Chalets in Whixley Lodge Farm Courtyard close to the fields,
Caravans & Motor Homes, We have hard standings in Whixley Lodge Courtyard & grass standings in the fields both with Ehu.
Bunk Room, We have a bunk room in the Old Granary which sleeps 8/12 persons,which is en-suite with shower & toilet,no beds,you bring your own sleeping bags,air beds - toiletries & cooking facilities.this room is heated in the colder months.Ideal for families, open all year to campers.
If your friends want to come & join in the fun and don't have a tent and want to stay with you,They can stay in one of our 4 delightful self catering Chalets or stay B&B next door to the fields,(available all year) or the Bunk house, the choice is yours.
There are 4 good restaurants 1 minutes drive from Whixley Lodge,serving a selection of good food and wine,if you need a pub or inn there are 6 local pubs and inns including a chinese restaurant & takeaway within 2 minutes by road, fancy a round of golf with a driving range,Flaxby golf course just down the road 2 minutes drive.
The fascinating old town of Knares-borough is the nearest landmark conurbation. Try the Riverside Cafe, for example, at the Waterside. Or swim in the indoor pool. Or explore the plethora of small and interesting shops, one a very old chemist’s. Wednesday is market day, as it has been since 1310! That gives you some idea of the age and character of the place.
